How to Create Amazing Homemade Ice Cream
Before you get started, place the pan in the freezer for 24 hours. We recommend storing the ice cream pan in the freezer between uses, so that it’s always ready to use when you need it!
Create a liquid ice cream mixture using milk, cream and sugar, or a liquid sorbet mixture using water or juice, sugar and fruit. Use the included recipe book to create delicious, classic recipes. Feel free to expand on our recipes with your favorite flavors and ingredients!
Pour the liquid ice cream mixture onto the supercooled ice cream pan and watch as it transforms before your eyes, instantly freezing into solid ice cream!
Use the included hand tools to scrape and turn the ice cream mixture until it’s completely frozen. Thanks to the non-skid bottom, the pan will stay completely still while you stir the ice cream!

Making ice cream at home can be tons of fun, and Rival’s Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker adds a new twist–classic soft-serve in a star pattern, perfect for cones. The fast-freezing gel canister needs to go into the freezer for at least eight hours (or preferably overnight). Assemble the ice cream maker, pour in a chilled recipe’s worth of ice cream mix, and in 20 to 35 minutes it’s ready to serve. There’s no salt or ice to fuss with, and you don’t have to monitor the process by stirring or hand cranking; it’s all done automatically.

The Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker has an automatic timer that starts when you turn the machine on. After 22 minutes, a tone will sound for 10 seconds, and the indicator light will change from red to green, indicating that the ice cream is ready. (For firmer ice cream, transfer soft-serve ice cream to a plastic container and place in the freezer until it reaches desired texture.) The clear plastic cover locks in place while the paddle rotates. When the time is up, just tilt the whole canister, rest it on the nonskid bracer feet on the canister collar, and press the dispenser button.

Replacement Schedule

Taylor recommends you replace at least quarterly.  Busier locations will replace wear parts more frequently.  Some frozen yogurt chains require these parts to be changed every 2 weeks.  Beater assemblies need to fit nice and tight in the freezing cylinders to scrape the walls of efficiently.  When scraper blades are worn, the beater assembly will slide in and out of the freezing cylinder without resistance.
