- Before repairing your dryer, unplug it or make sure circuit breakers are off.
- To access the Drive Belt, first lift up the lint screen cover and remove the two screws. If you have the type of lint screen that has the cover built in, just pull it out and then remove the screws.
- Next, take a putty knife around the edge of the top of your dryer and find the release clips–press these in to release the top of the dryer so you can swing it open.
- The drum should hang freely. Remove old belt/idler pulley assembly. When the new belt and pulley assembly are installed (slide the new belt around the drum, through the pulley assembly and around the shaft to the motor), rotate the drum a couple times to make sure it is lined up correctly. Then reassemble the dryer.
